Who is Northwester Mountain Conservatories?

At Northwestern Mountain Conservatories (NMC), we are a dedicated team driven by a shared love for the mountains and a deep respect for nature. Founded in December 2024 and based in Lakeport, California, we are lifelong friends and outdoor enthusiasts — Ryan Villanueva, Rachael Stultz, and Mike Galloway — united by a passion for environmental stewardship.

Our mission is to preserve and restore Northern California’s mountain landscapes by transforming neglected lands into thriving, sustainable environments. We specialize in cleaning up abandoned or illegal grow operations and dump sites, removing hazardous materials, and helping landowners secure conservation easements. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and hands-on restoration, we protect the natural beauty and wildlife of our region for future generations.

As a nonprofit organization, we strive to offer our services free or at low cost, funded by grants and donations. While we currently serve Northern California, we’re exploring future expansion into Oregon.

Our work is considered environmental remediation and land restoration. We utilize specialized equipment — including dump trailers, skid-steers, backhoes, and excavators — tailored to each project’s needs. Landowner permission is required for our services, and we are open to collaborating with government agencies when appropriate.

Though newly launched, we are building connections and look forward to earning the trust and recommendations of our community. If you’d like to learn more or partner with us, here’s how you can reach us:
